LED Bulbs of a Different Color

June 7, 2012 4:00 pm

There’s a popular belief that LED bulbs are too blue. This was a complaint during the early days of LED home lighting, but the technology has changed. Cerno insists on using warm LED bulbs with color temperatures of 2700 to 3000 on the Kelvin scale (written as 3000K). For comparison, fluorescent light fixtures used in offices have color temperatures of 4000 to 4500K. Though it encourages alertness, fluorescent lighting is considered uncomfortable and unflattering.

Certain manufacturers still produce LED bulbs for the home with color temperatures of around 4200K. Cerno isn’t one of them. Their lamps and fixtures offer the relaxing color temperature of compact-fluorescent bulbs (CFL bulbs) with the increased energy efficiency of LEDs.
