The mission for a seasonal refresh led us to Vallerie Drorbaugh, the Foundary’s in-house stylist.
What draws you to KoKo Company?
I’m able to showcase a Moroccan-inspired color story. Whether you’re working with neutrals or bright colors, I suggest incorporating pops of white for a modern feel. The white brick walls stay true to the Foundary’s aesthetic.
Are there any rules when mixing pieces from different eras or styles?
Here, the lines work between the furniture and the pillow patterns. I took this Victorian chair and stripped it of all upholstery and the seat cushion, what you see is the bare framework. Along with my changes, the KoKo Company accents transform the entire look of the chair.
We’re seeing the Victorian chair styled two ways. How do you decide which accents should stay and which should go?
I suggest investing in timeless pieces. The olive alpaca throw complements both pillow collections, Dune and Coptic. Because it’s lightweight, I recommend this throw for year-round use.
It’s fun to switch out your pillows seasonally; I often make the decision for Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. Choosing pillow sets from different collections give you this flexibility. I was able to convert this space using thoughtful textiles and décor.
