What’s in a Jar

Let’s start with a simple accent – something inexpensive, unassuming and part of Americana. It’s the Mason jar. Not only does it embody self-sufficiency and preparedness, it’s a natural summer setting.

Display fresh arrangements, light votive candles and serve chilled beverages. Soda-lime glass construction ensures lasting durability (and cost effectiveness). The Mason jar is dishwasher-safe, putting it in a class of its own as far as accents go.

Your best bet is a classic embossed design with a screw-on zinc lid. Mason jars are available in a variety of sizes and colors. Find them online or add them to your list the next time you go antiquing. Be sure to buy from a website with a decent-sized image. You don’t want any embossed surprises.
